40's!

This week in running for me:

Mon- 5m @Wash Park with a few 1200's at 6:50, felt OK 8:06 avg

Tue- 5m @work on TM progressive miles avg 8:00/M +10 minutes stair master

Wed- 7m @home DU/Harvard Gulch/Wash Park loop, mile warm and cool 5@ 7:45

Thu- Off

Fri- 5m @work outside on the rolling roads of Centennial, -split run 2.5m @ 7:45/m then 6:45, 7:29, 6:45 1/2m in... sort of a fartlek

Sat- 9m @Bear Creek Lake, soupy and swampy tough run w/Gunner. 1:30 time but it felt so hard, like running with bricks on my feet, most trail was either 2" of slush or 2" of mud.

Sun- 10m @Highline Canal Trail, better conditions but still soft muddy and slushy, good tempo run @8:25/m

Total Weekly Miles: 41m

Finally feel like I'm training again, but I'm really tired tonight. I'm still way out of shape, but I guess that's still to be expected. I might spend some time in the Gym this week, but don't hold me to it. I'm back in MBA classes this week... blah. I'm ready for this snow to be gone... It'd be nice to run on dirt...

Good to see that you are getting stronger. Just take your time, there is NO reason to push it. I hear you on wanting the snow to be gone.

No dirt here...just mud - otherwise, I'd be flying!! Glad to hear you're feeling better.

Marco- I hear ya, I've made my legs a promise not to go over 50/wk in March. From then on I'm gonna get as strong as I can so I don't let you beat me by 2 hrs again!

Dad- Chop it! I hear real men just have their toe nails removed...

Sis- come on! You're a Race Director for cryin' out loud, Sir Charles needs some playtime!

sounds good man!! remember we still have to go for a run some day. I will move back to Leadville in a couple of months in case you want to go for a real trail run!!

For sure Marco, I'm hoping the trails will start to actually dry out this week (providing no more snow...) and it'll be worth getting into the higher country. And speaking of Leadville, I'm planning on spending a weekend or two up there this summer. I've got Mt. Massive on my mind and some of the LT100 course, you in?

of course I'm in!!! Mt Massive is a great choice. It is my favorite mountain and the views are spectacular!! I know the course pretty well so just let me know when you want to come up and I will be there! Who are you pacing for LT 100?

Sweet... I'm pacing my friend Leila (we both ran Silver Rush and Steamboat last year) and it'll be her first 100. I'm excited to finally get the chance to be up there for the big one...

It really is something, you will like it. You will learn a lot by pacing as well, its a hard job. I'm really looking forward to it as well, it will be my first 100 too.
