MRI set for Saturday ***SOMETIME NEXT WEEK***

Hoping for good news, I'll probably have to wait until Monday or so to chat about the results with my Doc. 10am Saturday is the time.

***UPDATE***

So, my lovely insurance company denied my pre-authorization and now my doctor has to set up a meeting to explain to the dumbf**ks at Cigna that, believe it or not, swelling and pain at the knee joint for 4 months is in fact signs that something may be wrong. I swear that if I wasn't at work when I called to berate Cigna I might have passed out from not breathing... And you wonder why people hate insurance companies...

I hate needles

I do. Doc today put a small local anesthetic to quell some swelling under the IT band that won't go away (if you wonder why my low posting? I haven't run in a month). Also, I'll be getting an MRI the end of this week to look for tears in my meniscus (sp?). This whole process has been really frustrating but at least after the MRI I should know exactly what the hell is going on in my knee and what I can do to fix it.

So, short run down. Lingering ITBS and possible Meniscus tear. I'll update when I find out, and start re-evaluating my summer plans...

For now I'll live vicariously through other Colorado runners who are kicking ass. Good job CO, way to get it done.

Developments

Well, the knee decided I needed some more time off so I've been off of it for most of the last week and a half. I'm going to continue to rest it, keep more cross training going and gradually dip back in. That means i've dropped the February race in CA much to my chagrin, but such is life.

Now, my goal is to get healthy and fit to run fast at Sageburner. I think I can knock 30 minutes off my time, maybe more if I'm ready. That's the goal. Now that I'm off the distance kick for this year, I'll be better able to become a better runner.

The nice thing for me is that I'll have races to follow and cheer for from the sidelines. I know a few Coloradans are heading to Bandera for a chance at WS, good luck folks...
